GLUED LAMINATED TIMBER (GLULAM)
The glulam (MLE) manufactured by SIEROLAM is a structural wood product composed of sawn timber sheets that are sorted, dried and joined by structural adhesives, with the fibres oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis of the piece. The manufacturing process makes it possible to obtain structural elements of large dimensions and high mechanical performance, with high dimensional stability and durability.
The product is supplied in the form of beams, columns and other structural elements in accordance with the technical specifications applicable to glulam for structural use.
Glulam is designed for structural applications in building and civil engineering, including load-bearing structures, roofs, slabs, portals/gantries, walkways, and other construction solutions where engineered structural elements with high load-bearing capacity are required (as documented in the LCA study).
The primary raw material utilized in the manufacturing of the product is timber sourced from sustainably managed forests, complemented by structural adhesives and other auxiliary materials necessary for the production process.
Glulam is a structural product that, in general, fully complies with the performance requirements and specifications outlined in the EN 14080 standard.
