BIO 7 FR+
BIO 7 FR+ is a flexible facer consisting of a glass-fiber nonwoven coated with a water-repellent and fire-resistant mineral coating, developed for use as either a top or bottom facer in the production of rigid PIR/PUR insulation boards.
During the panel manufacturing process, the facer plays a key role in containing foam expansion and providing the finished product with the required performance characteristics. Thanks to its technical properties, BIO 7 FR+ offers high dimensional stability, excellent mechanical and tensile strength, controlled porosity during the foaming process, water-repellent properties, fire resistance and good walkability.
The mineral coating contains calcium carbonate obtained through the recovery of shells generated as waste by the seafood processing industry. These shells are recovered and transformed into a high-performance secondary raw material. The use of this resource helps reduce the consumption of virgin raw materials and promotes the recovery and valorization of by-products, in line with the principles of the circular economy. The use of shell-derived calcium carbonate represents an innovative solution for recovering resources from the seafood supply chain. The presence of recovered material is further supported by the ReMade in Italy certification, which independently and transparently verifies the recycled content and ensures its traceability throughout the production chain.
