Forged steel ingots produced via electric arc furnace in unalloyed form, thermally treated
Unalloyed thermally treated forged steel ingots manufactured at the NLMK Italia plant in Verona via the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) route. Forged ingots are available in dimensions ranging from 130 mm to 1,400 mm, and are characterised by close dimensional tolerances, excellent straightness and roundness, sound surface quality, and low decarburisation depth, making them well suited for forging and machining applications. Primary steelmaking inputs include ferrous scrap, ferro-alloys, coal, graphite electrodes, fuels, oxygen, and auxiliary consumables. Scrap is melted in the EAF, refined and alloyed in the ladle furnace, and cast. The steel is subsequently forged and subjected to thermal treatment to optimise microstructural and mechanical properties in accordance with customer requirements
