Ragù alla Bolognese for Export market

This Environmental Product Declaration is about Barilla’s Ragù alla Bolognese, produced in Barilla’s plant in Rubbiano (Italy), packed in 400 grams jar for Export market. The geographical scope is Global, focused on product sold in all markets except Italy.

The process starts from sauté vegetables in oil; tomato pulp and meat are poured when vegetables are browned and herbs are added at the last moment. After the cooking process, the sauce undergoes a heat treatment to pasteurize the product while preserving flavour and taste as much as possible over time. The pasteurization treatment, coupled with the integrity of the container, allows us to avoid using any preservatives.
