Mechanics for Flow Sensors
The flow modules provide the overall function of measuring the amount of water (the flow) transported through a given thermal energy system of a building. Typically, flow meters consist of an ultrasonic flow sensor using the transit-time principle. It provides bidirectional flow measurement and long-term accuracy. It communicates with the calculator via a three-wire pulse cable that supplies power and transmits volume-proportional pulses. The flow meter includes microprocessor-based electronics and compact housing. The difference in functionality between flow modules is the following:
The flow module is part of a modular product system - a thermal energy meter consisting of a calculator unit, ultrasonic flow sensor, paired temperature sensors, a communication module, and a battery power supply. The system measures thermal energy in water-based heating and cooling installations.
Mechanics for flow sensors consist of either brass or steel and a measuring tube of ultrason plastic.
