EPD of Calcium formate

Calcium formate is an important organic calcium salt. At room temperature, it appears as white crystals or a crystalline powder, is readily soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is neutral or slightly alkaline. Calcium formate finds extensive applications in industrial, agricultural, and feed sectors.

In the feed industry, as an efficient organic acid calcium additive, calcium formate promotes calcium absorption in animals. Simultaneously, the formate ion exerts antibacterial effects, contributing to improved gut health. It is commonly used in feed for piglets, poultry, and other livestock. In the construction field, calcium formate serves as a concrete early-strength agent, accelerating cement hydration and enhancing early-stage strength. Furthermore, it is utilized as a catalyst or raw material in leather tanning and chemical synthesis.
