 The Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) helps secure the future of steelmaking at the Glenbrook site in Auckland. Set for operation in 2026, it will enable New Zealand Steel to shrink its carbon footprint and will enable New Zealand, to be as close to self-sufficient as possible, utilising a largely renewable grid and recycling scrap steel.

This EPD applies to COLORSTEEL MAXAM® with 0.40mm base metal (steel) thickness (BMT), in coil form at the outbound gate of the manufacturing site. All products are manufactured by New Zealand Steel (Bluescope) at its facilities at Glenbrook, Auckland. The declared unit presented is one flat square metre (1m2) of COLORSTEEL® product.
